bounty hunter
We are getting van re-upholstered soon and company carrying this out are advising us not to get fabric coated in Scotchguard but to just use an upholstery cleaning foam to remove any stains. We actually thought everything was Scotchguard nowadays. Anyone have any experience for or against? Thanks John
Guest pelmetman
? :-S ...........Dunno why they should say that........although its simple enough to do, just buy a can off the tinternet..........Best test it on a off cut first though, as on some fabrics it can change the shade slightly ;-) ..... StuartO
Car dealers make a lot of extra money out of adding Scotchguard to an order for a new vehicle and they even tried to sell it to us as an extra when we bought a 3 year old "approved" car recently. I suspect the first owner was sold it when the vehicle was new but that didn't stop them suggesting it, as well as gap insurance, extended warranty and lifetime servicing. (I bought the extended manufacturer's warranty and said no to the rest.) If your upholstery supplier is telling you it isn't necessary that's probably very good advice!
