Calais port

This July 2015 article refers to the Calais campsite that is in the process of being constructed (hence the current 1€ reduction in price at the adjacant motorhome aire because of the disruption, noise, etc. caused by the bullding work).

Apparently it is planned that the campsite will have a dedicated space for ‘food trucks’ to park so that people can buy provisions, and there is talk of a free shuttle-service to Calais centre and bike hire (presumably like ‘Boris bikes' in London).

Thanks for the update Derek. We always used to like going on our last night in France to the Cote d'Argent restaurant by the old aire for a posh meal. It will now be a bit of a hike there, so we may have to rely on a greasy spoon parked outside if we arrive too worn out from wine shopping. However, I will reserve judgement on the catering offerings until I have tasted the quality of the frites.
