michele
*#06# gives you your IMEM number so if your mobile phone is stollen whilst O&A as long as you log on to IMMOBILSE .COm you can register it . Register it first then if stolen the police know who to return it to if found. you must keep your IMEM number safely so you can prove its your phone . Hope this helps anyone. especially the cost of phones these days. (?)
Norma
I once found a phone and used my phone to call my provider, Vodafone, to ask what to do, as the found one was locked. If the handset had been regestered with them they would be able to trace it through the IMEM number - printed inside the phone. The phone was with O2 - they were absoulately no help and were not interested in the IMEM number. As I was miles into the hills I took the phone home and left it switched on in the hope the owner would call it. They never did.
