enodreven Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Hi, Friends of ours have had copies of the main page (photo and description)of their passports reduced to credit card size and laminated, and they have found that most campsite have accepted these as proof of identity, rather than leaving there actual passports and i suppose this may work in other instances, albeit i don't think they would probably be acceptable to the authorities/police I would also recommend that anyone who travels around Europe obtain a CCI camping garnet card as these can be used in place of your passports at campsites , but they also give you a limited level of liability insurance and on a lot of campsites you get a small discount ? Hope these tips help CCI cards are available from the CC and this link explains more http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/camping_card.html Brian
