Hi Brian.

Have you ever been inside one of our so called mental establishments. I can see the floodlights from one of the countrys top establishments from our house. Localy we call it the Hotel. They live a better life than we do. If we want to see our local GP we have to make an appointment, then wait a day or so. There they walk along the corridor and pop into one of the many GP's surgeries that operate there.

What they want they get, including there own shop. We are the ones paying for it all out of our NHS.

A friend of ours is a GP there, plus in another life I used to supply the daily papers and magazines. Over a grands worth a week...

Ive just had enough of the softly softly approach . I felt sorry for that farmer who shot that lad years ago . OK you can't go around shooting people dead but he was probably frightenend out of his wits and didnt know what the hell was happening . What happened to an English mans Home is his Castle . seems to me that all the do gooders out there scream loud and the little buggers get off with it . What's happened to the people that get hurt victim support IS THAT IT ? whilst all the scum is getting a better deal. Legal aid TV Hot dinner drugs brought in . I think its time for change . Perhaps women should run the country and dish out punishments .. cat of nine tales. 100 times over and thats just my tonge tounge oh what ever . ;-)

Short answer, yes, more than once.  Yours and one other.  Be warned, there are no easy answers here.

A few of the inmates (sorry, patients!) at yours requested admittance - they were not sentenced - to prevent themselves acting out their fantasys.  Are they so mad?

Have you ever seen the quiz sheets that circulate inside among the patients - written by the patients.  The general standard was way above GCSE, and mostly way above A level.

You'd need to talk to the psychriatric nurses to understand why some of them are in.  Most appear totally normal, but you are very closely escorted throughout your visit, for your own safety.  It is a very odd, unsettling and somehow humbling experience walking around among the patients, and being warned how to avoid triggering reactions, especially when the extreme nature of some of their characteristic reactions is explained!

Just be glad they are in there and not outside!  The other thing to know, easy enough if you live nearby, is just how many are returned to society in due course.  Of course a few regress, but the majority don't, and the doctors and nurses should be applauded for what they can do with some of the most violent, unstable, and unpredictable people in our society.
