Barcobird
Cracked it for all you mobile Apple users *-) Take or save a picture to your photo album. Go to photo album and select the picture you want to use. Email it to yourself and when you press send you will be given the option of small, medium or large. Each one will give you image size, select one under 100 kbs and send. Open your email and save the photo to your picture album. Now when you go through the procedure of posting on the forum and you select that photo it will load and hey presto :->
Derek Uzzell
Attaching a file to a posting is a 2-stage procedure as far as the forum’s software is concerned. The initial stage is a check by the forum’s software that the size of the file to be attached is no larger than 100kb. It doesn’t matter what type of file it is - as long as it is no larger than 100kb attachment will take place. Conversely, if the 100kb limit is exceeded attachment will be unsuccessful. What happens next also depends on the forum’s software and this seems to have been designed to prefer files with a .jpg file-extension. If a file does not have a .jpg file-extension just the name of the file may be shown at the foot of the posting. If a forum-member then clicks on the file-name, the member’s own device (PC, Mac, tablet, etc.) will attempt to handle it. So it’s perfectly possible to attach any file-type (for example a .pdf file) and as long as it’s no bigger than 100kb and your device can handle that type of file, you should be able to view it. (Forum Moderators are able to attach files with a size up to 200kb.)
Derek Uzzell
Just for the record, it’s evidently possible for files other than those with a .jpg extension to be attached to a posting and for them to display. For example
