maggyd Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 my husband has recently broken the door lock on our kontiki has anyone been able to replace parts and been able to use the same key numbers or do we have to replace the complete lock. It is a 2003 610 .
chas Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I think a visit to your local locksmiths with the said lock will reveal what is possible or not. My opinion is you will need to get a new on, and the locksmith will be able to advise you. He will probably suggest another type using the same fixing area as on the door and also of better quality as most standard caravan type locks are of poor design and quality. Good Luck chas

It is a 2003 610 . Is this the cabin door, or the cab door? If the former, I'd suggest contacting Swift, to see what they suggest. If the latter, Fiat (presumably) dealer, who should be able to get coded keys to match. You'll need proof of ownership unless they already know you.
maggyd Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 Yes chas its the caravan lock , hubby's had it to bits says its the poor plastic inards that are slipping. Have to see where we can get a new one ANY IDEAS GREATLY APPRECIATED. Maggy. :-(
gordonaldson Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Try your local caravan/motorhome dealers accesory shop or try another because i've a 1992 Kon-Tiki 650z and i've seen caravan door locks that look the same as mine in their plastic packs but i've never investigated what is all in the bag.
