baden87
Just fitted 2 new identical leisure batteries, utilizing the autotrail second battery wiring , both charged up off the motorhome , before fitting After a couple of weeks , using 100 watt solar and EHU and drive for 60 miles yesterday , the readings on solar controller are reading 12.4 volts and the ec 100 panel is showing about 3/4 way on the scale , any ideas what's wrong ? lennyhb
Obviously not getting charged from the solar panels may be charging off the alternator but to charge them driving you need to drive 300-400 miles. You may have blown a fuse when fitting the batteries, have a look for fuses in line with your panels. Also Autotrail fit silly undersized cables to the batteries most people replace tham and fit a decient solar regulator but need to sort the fault first. baden87
Do you would be better off bypassing the Autotrail second battery wiring and connecting batteries together with some 100amp cable?
lennyhb
Yes and running new heavier cables to the charger/distribution unit but you need to sort the fault first.
