R.Carder
Hi, we are about to purchase our first Motorhome and are looking at Motorhomes with overcab beds. I am 6'2" tall and we are looking for overcab beds that can fit me in. Any ideas or advice gratefully appreciated.

colin
I don't think you will have any problem whilst lieing down in most vans, the problems come with headroom which can be very limited with overcabs.
Brock
Hello Richard. Have look at this link: https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/motorhomes/buyers-guide-advice/motorhomes/details/overcab-bed-motorhomes/14 It's sometimes difficult to find out bed sizes. As a guide, take the width of the van, knock off say three inches to cover the width of the walls and allow something for your pillow. Most overcabs will fit you in if they are designed for adults - some are just designed for children. Overcab models are not in fashion for a number of reasons [see articles in link above] so if you are keen on this layout, satisfy yourself that the expected benefits are realistic and more than compensate for the downsides. Poor air quality leading to headaches for the sleepers, and condensation can be a problem in poorly ventilated overcabs.
Geeco
The overcab bed on the hi-line version of the Autotrail range is 6'2" x 4' so if you wanted to sleep stretched out that range would put you on the limit.Having said that there is adequate headroom and plenty of light from the large skylight and is a very comfortable area in which to sleep. Cheers,

As Stated Over cab fine even for a 6,2 person, You don't sleep flat out, (or maybe you do. but the height is a problem for sitting up , even for a shorter person. The only problem we encounter is getting up in the night, and putting bare feet on a metal ladder! We no longer use ours, but makes great storage for bedding etc. Height can be a problem in any motor home, one has to remember that when going under low arches/bridges . Good idea to place a printed card in the front of van to remind you of height, until you get used to driving van! PJay
