ColinM50
I'm sure you've seen the indicators on some of the new Audi's especially, that sort of walk along the rope or lights and lead your eye from inside the vehicle to the outside? Very effective I think Quite fancy fitting something similar the M/H but have searched on Google and haven't been able to find them but to be honest I don't know what they're called. Anyone? laimeduck
Nothing new - Many of the American gas guzzlers had these (not LED!) when I lived there in the mid 70's. A series of standard bulbs that went from mid trunk to wing. (Probably driven by a hamster in a cage wheel?)
Derek Uzzell
There’s a retro-fit kit available for VW Golf Mk 7s with LED rear lights and this 2014 USA thread discusses a DIY approach https://www.element14.com/community/thread/36459/l/led-turn-signal-car-light-sequencer?displayFullThread=true Try it - you’ll be a candidate for the 2018 FUYCBS award. Deneb
Personally, I think they are awful, if not downright dangerous in some conditions. Because they are a relatively thin LED strip which illuminates progressively, they are fully lit for substantially less time than a traditional on/off flashing bulb, and I have found them very difficult to see at all in certain conditions, such as bright sunlight shining directly on the lamp, particularly when headlights and/or brake lamps are also illuminated, as the relevant intensity of those lights tends to mask the indicator lamp. IMO they are another example of form over function, and something that didn't need inventing.
