Holland/Denmark

Hi all. In late May, June and early July we are going for the first time to Holland and Denmark, with a 7.4 metre 4100 kilo motorhome. Are there any major things we should be aware of while travelling through these countries? Thought I would ask you all as a precaution! Been through Germany/Belgium before so ok with that. Thanks, DonB

If you are just travelling through Holland, the Motorway system is high quality, though quite busy, especially if you come from Rotterdam on the Hull ferry. Speed limits the same as ours, and people stick to them (mostly!]

Denmark is a lovely country to tour in, with some high class campsites and a good supply of aire-type stops (see the Camper Contact site). We can recommend two places in particular. Copenhagen is a terrific city to walk around. We stayed on the Copenhagen City Camp, which has basic facilities equivalent to an aire, but is located right on the riverside and is ideal for getting quickly into the city centre.

The other place is Ribe, on the western coast. Wonderfully picturesque small town, cobbled streets, timbered buildings etc and a free tour with the local night watchman every evening. Ribs Camping is a walk of roughly half a mile plus from the village centre and is extremely well appointed. We really enjoyed Denmark
