Guest peter
The usual cause of breakdown with a Diesel on a boat is contaminated fuel and as most leisure boats have only one tank or linked tanks. If you fill up with duff fuel it eventually affects both engines. Thats why I always carry a good stock of fuel filters. Anyway most comercial inshore fishing boats have only one engine. But they are probably very fussy where they get their tanks filled. The biggest problem is water in the fuel from condensation in the tank.
