Hi, just returned from 2 nights at Charmouth, dorset, 1 night on Newlands, second night on Manor farm site, both at bottom of village, and you can wslk down beside the river to the beach, or drive up to middle of .village, turn left, down to the beach. Parking 2.50 for all day, or 22 pounds per night at either site.

find your own old fossil on the beach, (or leave them in the van while you go for a walk)

Thanks for the ideas. Seadown looks even closer to the beach.

Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park. Small family run campsite for motor homes or tents or glamping.

Amazing Cliff top location on the Gower Peninsular with incredible sandy beach. The toilet shower facilities are amazing - definitely the gold standard for shower toilet facilities. The Caravan Club facilities look decidedly 50s standard in comparison to these. Featured briefly in the Channel 5 documentary "5 go Motor Homeing"

We are heading north to a C and M Club site by the sea , Old Hartley , supposed to be great for sea views and cycling .

We had a week at Old Hartley last year. Lovely site with great views, not sure about cycling but fantastic walking along the cliff paths.

You can get the bus outside the site which goes in to Newcastle, one of the nicest cities to visit, nice shops but great down by the Tyne.

Be sure to take levelling blocks because the pitches are very steep in places

Another lovely site is Damage Barton in North Devon, we've been there a couple of times.

Sands Caravan & Camping Gairloch Wester Ross.

Dunnet Bay Caravan Club site.

Polin Beach Kinlochberbvie.

Rosemarkie.

Haven't been to any of them but planning to this year. They've got to have a see view which is a must, Brewery tour (Rosemarkie) and micro brewery beer.

Not too much to ask for eh...

Wirral Country Park CMC. Sits on the cliffs above the beach but there is a way down. You can tackle the Wirral Way which is a walk/cycle along the coast to New Brighton. The wetlands of the Dee Estuary are close at hand. It's not that easy to get into Liverpool from the site unless you are prepared to walk c2 miles to a regular bus stop. Parking for motorhomes in Liverpool is limited although Liverpool Marina has an overnight stop and motorhome service point. There is a CL and CS on the Wirral but they are probably 3 miles from the beach. Chester, North Wales and Snowdonia are within easy reach if you get fed up of the beach,

Wirral is closer to the Midlands than the Scottish beaches!

New England Bay and Garlieston CMC sites, both in Dumfries & Galloway, are by the sea.

If you are up in that area have a look at Sango Sands campsite at Durness.

Clifftop views - nice beach - excellent walks locally ( Balnakiel Bay ).

Thanks for the heads up ! There is a cycling route between the two lighthouses which utilises the Tyne ferry which we are going to explore , meeting my sister for lunch in Newcastle on the way back !

Old Hartley (Whitley Bay) as already mentioned.

Sandy Bay at Newbiggin has a touring field right on the cliff top ..... very good clubhouse and amusements.

Whitby Holiday Park, again a cliff top touring field and clubhouse/amusements.
