Guest Don Madge Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Owing to the reconstruction of a viaduct on the A31 (Metz to Luxembourg) motorway, northbound traffic will be totally forbidden north of Metz (Richemont) from Sunday 24th April to Monday 26th September 2005. All vehicles in transit are advised to leave the A31 at Langres and to travel north via the A26 joining the A2 at Valenciennes. As a general measure, all road users are requested to avoid the Nancy-Luxembourg region, as far as possible. This is a very popular free motorway route with cheap fuel/tobacco in Luxembourg. The closure could cause many problems during the high season. This info is courtesy of The Euro Truck Drivers Forum. Safe travelling Don
Guest bb Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Thanks for that Don, we are planning our next French trip and were considering going that way for a change. Had even picked out a site or two. We can either leave it for next year, or go north /south and then circle back via the centre. If enough people read the post on the different sites, it could make a real difference to holiday holdups this summer.
