sreve Posted July 5, 2018 Share Posted July 5, 2018 Hi there A mate of mine uses a sumvision cyclone 3 in his motorhome to play movies etc from an eternal hard drive to his tv.The cyclone 3 is powered via a USB so doesn't need a power source so is ideal for 12 volt use.I don't think the cyclone 3 can be bought anymore and was wondering what alternatives some of you folk out there use.I've looked at the cyclone 4 but have been told that it is no good for 12 volt use. Deneb Posted July 6, 2018 Share Posted July 6, 2018 I have the Micro 4. It can run from USB or an included 240v to USB adapter plug. It will play video from a connected HDD or from a micro SD card inserted in the unit (not included with the device, bought separately). When on 12 volt only, I power it from the USB socket on my Avtex TV and connect it to the TV HDMI input, although it also comes with a composite AV cable if you don't have HDMI available.
