bobalobs
Well nearly a year later the smell still persists. After autoelectrician saying it is an "intermittent throttle valve problem"it was not a problem in the winter/spring months. With the recent hot weather and windows down from start the smell is back again and it is"not intermittent".Five minutes or less from start the egg smell starts and stops about five minutes later. Any ideas? Like the old days of new catalysts.I am told not to worry but am I causing more expense by ignoring the problem?
witzend
I had the same problem and it Was the engine battery which receives a high charge for a few mins after just starting when you increase the engine revs and drops off after a few mins but I don't think it can be in your case after all this time, Could it be anything to do with the alternator drive belt which is also under most strain for the first few mins after starting
Don636
Sounds like a faulty catalytic converter to me. A garage should be able to check this for you.
Paul-
If Kwik fit checked my battery I'd want a second opinion by a proper garage or battery dealer type firm
