On occasions, the police may abandon the chase, in deference to the safety of the general public. Having said that, one death is too high a price to pay for any crime, let alone four. My condolances to the bereaved relatives and friends. OT ... it is just possible that a high-end car, like a BMW, is equiped with hi-tech gubbins that could enable the engine to be disabled by satellite. Only the satellites are not yet so equiped ... as far as I know. Tracker Posted August 3, 2018 Share Posted August 3, 2018 I find it difficult to feel any sympathy for these men who decided to break the law and try to outrun a police car and maybe other wanna be tearaways will learn the lesson, although somehow I suspect they won't.
