michele Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Huntingdon Berneray Moreton In the Marsh LIncoln Stratford Malvern Shepton Peterborough Anymore suggestions? Richard Hope I have not taken over not my intenetion .Would just be nice to see you all . Trying to get it moving . Have left anymore sugesstion spaces . Did not think it would work.
Guest peter Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I don't mind any venue, but it's probably better not to make it a show, as people go to shows to look at all the goodies. Which would make it harder to get everybody at the same place at one time. Just a thought.
Dave Newell Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 peter - 2007-01-26 9:17 PM I don't mind any venue, but it's probably better not to make it a show, as people go to shows to look at all the goodies. Oh I don't know Pete, the actual trade part of the shows is only open during the daytime hours which leaves the evenings for socialising etc. I attend all the Warners shows anyway although as Don said elsewhere He, me, Clive, Mel e and others have our own little area but I for one would certainly be happy to wander over to a group area and meet all the faces for a good old natter. D.
flicka Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Hi Michele Recognise all the show venues except Huntingdon. Is that a show also? Doubt Berneray, would cope with everyone. Flicka
Guest starspirit Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Have you been to Bernerray Flicka - miles of firm grassland behind a very long sandt beach - it would cope - but I wonder whether some of us would without any facilities whatsover!
flicka Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Thinking of all the comments on another post relating to the Bernerray population Starspirit, not the location. But no, it's not a spot I have been. Don't know if thats' unfortunate or fortunate, now. Flicka
Guest starspirit Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 It's a bit remote Flicka, but a beautiful spot and in my view well worth a visit. I was in the Outer Hebrides in May 2005 and I had no problems whatsoever - but then I did not park inappropriately Camping wild was / is only encouraged on the West side of the island but that now seems under debate as there seems to have been some antagonism caused by inconsiderate campers, and there is a rumour that the local farmers want payment for not providing anything accept access. The West side is a little (alright a lot) exposed to the North Atlantic gales which tend to make the sandy beaches a bit kelpy and there are of course absolutely no facilities not even water which you can get from the nearest TIC. It was of course a tongue in cheek suggestion!
michele Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Flicka, Sorry I know nothing about Huntingdon I am not sure but I believe it was Dave's idea I just put the poll of what people hade suggested . Sorry i just about know where it is but I don't know if it's a CC or a field being suggested .........I'll go where the music takes me. ;-)
Guest starspirit Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Re Huntingdon - see Mel's posting on the other thread.
mags Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Wouldn't mind joining in, need an excuse to get the motorhome out !! Would the meet be mid week or weekend? Perhaps a vote on that might be useful as well ?
Dave Newell Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Well for me it would have to be a weekend due to work commitments, that's why I suggested one of the shows as I'll be there anyway. selfish perhaps but then that's me (lol) (lol) . d.
michele Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Never thought of that but I would be stuck as well as I,m not a fulltime loafer yet so if it's mid week I,m in trouble .... Bit selfish but can it be a weekend ? :-(
flicka Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 To add some extra info Huntingdon date ? anytime? Berneray ? Moreton In the Marsh date ? anytime? LIncoln - Show date 13-15 July Stratford - Show date 1-3 June Malvern - Show date 10-12 August Shepton - Show date 7-9 September Peterborough - Show date 27-29 April Also Newbury - Show date 11-13 May York - Show date 21-23 September could be possibilities. For us, any other than Berneray, nothing against the place, just that we would spend all the time travelling. Thanks for getting the ball rolling, Michele Maybe we need a poll with more than one option to see which is best? Flicka
michele Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Don't thank me thank Richard, what started out to be a good idea may turn into fruition yet . here's hoping .. (lol)
Guest peter Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Whats the closing date? or it will roll on all summer. Any suggestions.
michele Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 Ok guy's it's the 1st and the poll is closed so for your information it will be at Huntingdon ,it's looking like it's going to be a weekend. I should never of interfered in this great idea of Richards so I will learn my lesson the hard way.. Here goes Grovel ............ Rich would you like to put some weekend dates together or have i messed it to much sweetie honey grovel grovel ......Dot say's it works Pleeeeeeeeas. I promise I will shut up permanently i appeal to your nice nature ......Crawling slowly ducking as well... ;-) ;-)
Guest starspirit Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 It's quite OK michele, I recognise a superior multi tasking intelect when I see one so you just carry on and I'll sit back, relax, unwind and watch things evolve. Like I said Huntingdon at 275 miles each way from here is a darned long way just for a weekend so unless it can be timed in with something else I doubt we will go. Some might say that's as good a reason as any to hold it in Huntingdon. As we will be away in May and probably June, and we still have dark evenings up to the end of March that just leaves April. The Peterborough show is 27th April but that is very close to our long haul in early May so I doubt we would make it then. Some might say that's as good a reason as any to hold it in May. However the event is not just for one person it is for the majority so I guess this is where we duck out.
LeoK Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Forgive me, but I am now totally confused. I remember the poll about where we might hold a rally, and that Huntingdon was favourite amongst the (relatively) few responses. I have just carried our a search for Huntingdon and found FIVE related topics running. Can somebody please pick which is the PRIME topic for this subject and on each of the others post a closing entry, which includes the link to the then working topic. And then, could someone 'with the force (or at least the power)' make the terminated topics closed. Pretty please ... Regards etc... LeoK PS Although I have never done anything of the like before, if it is to be Huntingdon would whoever is going to organise it PM me, that I may offer to help.
Guest starspirit Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 And you think you're confused! I started the first thread on this topic as' First Annual Forum Users Convention', but it quickly become confused as a certain party opened ever more threads. We are now at the point where everyone is fed up and bored and the whole idea is quickly sinking into oblivion - where, on reflection, it probably deserves to be.
LeoK Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 'tis such a shame that ... the "Quote" "Reply" and "Post Reply" "New thread" buttons are so close together. (lol)
michele Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 Sorry people . Told you I would learn my lesson . I think Richard is right.
Guest starspirit Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Of course I'm right Michele - I'm always right - I learnt it on here - just ask Dot.
