dometic fridge fixing

The same way it is removed in ANY van, screws around front remove, slide out carefully being very gentle with gas pipe (gas disconnected at source,of course) until you reach the gas pipe screw connector, use 2 spanners to undo union, then slide out completely.

Sometimes just turning the fridge upside down and leaving it for a few hours, will cure a circulation problem. Good luck.

You haven’t said which model of Dometic fridge is involved, nor which make/model/year of A-class motorhome the fridge is in, so providing any specific advice will be impossible. However, there will be basic steps that will need to be followed.

This link is to a Dometic Operating/Installation manual for a RM7271L refrigerator

and the securing method is described on Page 22. Screws accessed from inside the fridge will need to be removed to allow the fridge to be pulled out from its housing in the motorhome’s ‘furniture’. Gas and electrical supplies will need to be disconnected at the fridge’s rear and the fridge’s external ventilation grilles will normally need to be removed to permit this to be done. (The fridge may also need to be pulled partially out for this disconnection to be carried out.)

It needs emphasising that removing a large fridge from a motorhome can be a nightmare task. I’ve read stories where a fridge was installed prior to the motorhome’s bodywork being fitted and, as the fridge was wider than the motorhome’s entrance-door, it had to be come out through a cab door. And it’s pretty common to have to disassemble/remove furniture to gain enough space to manhandle the fridge out.

If you are thinking about DIYing this task, I suggest you think twice...
