Guest starspirit
I would hate to see anyone banned - even TC01. Free speech, as long as it is not overtly racist or offensive, is what millions of good people died, and continue to die, for. In my view TC01's comment may have been ill advised but it certainly was not in itself that offensive. Perhaps we are becoming a nation of folk who want to be seen as jumping on the band wagon as 'holier than thou', politically correct, quick to judge others? Perhaps therefore Mr Mod would give TC01 another chance?
Forester
Dont put your hand in the fire comes to mind with tc, He has upset a lot on here by the remarks he made which I can understand The lad played with fire and got burned. I did like some of his wind ups though.
shallowthroat
starspirit - 2007-01-30 2:21 PM I would hate to see anyone banned - even TC01. From what I recall you have encouraged TC101 all along, whilst Frank Wilkinson for instance has always been of the opinion that his so called sense of humour is cruel and that its aim is ultimately to wind up and cause dissent. You seem to be of a similar nature so I can understand you now attempting to justify his latest disgraceful comments. What does someone have to say starspirit for you to consider them beyond the pale? Almost everyone else, including the moderator, seems to disagree with you here. It certainly seems to me that Frank has been right all along and that eventually TC showed his true colours. So what's your limit? Pornography and posts about members dying seems OK to you - just where do you draw the line?
clareh
as a relatively new user i have viewed all chatterbox comments with interest, on their own merits. however i have to say i find TC's comments annoying and a nuisance. i totally agree with frank in that he's been somewhat 'egged on' (innocently or otherwise) by replies, when he should have been ignored. it is obvious that TC gets off on winding people up. personally i think ban him cos he's a waste of space. and i sincerely hope i never have the pleasure of neighbouring him at any site. can i just say i really value this forum, and enjoy all the comments on it. for me, TC is OTT. Dave Newell
If TC had ever posted anything constructive on any body elses thread I might consider what you say as having some merit Richard. However the only truly pleasant thing TC ever posted (to my knowledge at least) was an anouncement of his grand daughters birth to which several of us offered our congratulations to all concerned. Did he ever stand up for any one else? NO. Apart from the above mentioned thread did he ever post anything that didn't offend anyone else on here? I don't recall it if he did. Did he ever post anything that was intended to take the mick, offend, insult and generally demean others? ALL THE FLAMIN' TIME!!! Good riddance TC, I for one won't miss his juvenile and twisted sense of humour. Well done Mr. Moderator for not over-reacting too soon but for eventually running out of patience with the little sh!t! D.
colin
I very rarely read TC01's posts, but when I do I treat them as jokes. When the last one popped up I didn't bother as it was bound to be offensive, then I saw there was a couple of replies had been left I looked at thread, I was suprized at the replies and how people had risen to his bait, I have copied a post by another member from another thread and was going to insert here but will not as it is very offensive, I ran it past a couple of welsh colleges at work and they where not ammused, but no one here seems to have objected as it is considered a joke, also my gf does not like jokes that say she is stupid and oversexed ( I sometimes have a giggle but don't tell her o.k.) michele
Shallowthroat, What's sauce for one is gravy for another I think you have been totally unfair and I don't see where you see that Startspirit has encourged him. He may of joined in on banter but he certainly never encouraged him on the theme that everyone took exception to . Nor did he encourage him with the picture last week . That is TC's own doing as an adult he should know where to draw the line . As for, you seem to be of a similar nature !you need to get to know the man before you pass judgement young lady . I find this offensive from someone who rarely contributes but is happy to sit on the side line. I notice you were not so brave in saying TC post's offended you . But your quick to slate Starspirit. clareh
your wording was not clear as you missed the name but i assume you were directing to me?? i certainly am not of the same nature that you imply. please read my reply again to clarify i am not slating anyone but TC. as i said i think he's OTT. i may not contribute always as in reply, but i have been reading the forum for 4 months and have therefore read many of his threads. your response is rude. whats more it makes new members not want to get involved. thank you for your comment

Guest starspirit
Some interesting comments here, just goes to show how we all see things differently - not neccessarily right or wrong - just differently. Which brings me to the rantings of one Gill Shallowthroat. Gill, please show me where I encouraged TC01 to be rude and offensive and where I justified anything he has said about porn or death. Does my comment 'ill advised' constitute encouragement? I think not. If you read back Gill you will see that I have had some experience of the death of a much loved wife and best friend but that does not make me paranoid about involving humour in the grieving process, neither does it make me condem those who maybe have not had the experience and thus know no better. It strikes me Gill that you might wish to consider taking a long hard look at your own views and public politically correct posturing before condeming others of whom you know so little. And no Mr Mod I do not wish you to censure anyone with a shallow mind thanks.
twooks
All forums attract wind up merchants, some more offensive than others, some are simply looking for a fight - and direct their insults to other members, it is a sad fact of life. These users are quickly identifiable, and imo the best way is to ignore their posts, roll with it, don't let them get to you. If ever they have bugged me to the point that I've responded to their posts I've usually felt like a right plonker almost as soon as I've pressed the button. I do think that the time of year may have a bearing on the number of offensive posts, if we're stuck here in the dank, dismal, dreary, dreich, dark, depressing, dim, despondent, dingy, disagreeable, discouraging, disheartening, dispiriting, doleful, dull, dreich - oops repeating myself! place, with the 'van stuck on the drive .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. go place a pointless vote here instead, http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Motorhome/
Guest peter
If he's been banned I'm glad. As far as I know he has never made a usefull remark about anything. Certainly not in the Motorhome Matters forum, so what's the point of him being on here. for all we know he may not even have a Motorhome. From the topics that he dreamt up it is more likely to be some spotty 14 Yr old kid. Good riddance I say and ayone else with a similar mental disorder can join him/her. Derek Uzzell
What makes you think he won't resurrect himself as TC02?
Dave Newell
Presumably the moderator can see the IP address of members and can therefore block TC01's use from that address. Anyway, if he does ressurect himself I for one shall simply not respond to hi/her/it/whatever. D.
Administrator
TC01 has been banned. Why? For all the reasons mentioned above. In internet terms, he's a 'troll' - someone who delights in winding people up with nonsense and bad taste whilst never posting anything remotely redeeming. Any other 'trolls' (and spammers, scammers or 'free advertisers') will be dealt with in exactly the same way.

Guest starspirit
Fair enough Mr Moderator it's your party and your prerogative to use your experience and knowledge to ban or not to ban. However as one who values the free speech that our fathers fought for, and which our wonderfully tolerant country and society gives, I dislike any form of censorship unless the material actively fosters hatred, violence, or abuse. Just for the record in spite of Grasping and Teflon's best efforts there is nowhere else in the world I would rather live - although I can see the merits of Mediterranean winters!
