malc d
Bulletguy - 2019-05-04 5:02 PM Had to laugh. Ruth Davidson has banned Boris from the Scottish Tory party conference. And even more mind boggling. After criticism, a source close to Johnson claimed he had voted near his second home in Thame in South Oxfordshire. He said he did not know why Johnson had deleted the tweet, and he could not explain why Johnson was registered to vote outside his Uxbridge constituency. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/may/03/boris-johnson-claims-voted-not-election-area And then there was the Cotswold cock up where a ballot paper with "Brexit" scrawled on with an arrow pointing to a Tory councilors name was accepted by the Returning officer......defeating an Independent candidate by one vote. So much for "democracy". *-) https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/local-election-results-conservative-ballot-brexit-cotswold-tetbury-stephen-hirst-kevin-painter-a8898321.html

As far as i'm aware it could only count as a 'spoiled' vote and fail to see how anyone could see it as anything else irrespective of the councilors politics. Typically you're excusing it as ok purely because it was a Tory councilor instead of condemning it.

But it wasn't was it? And yes i would as i still believe the returning officer was wrong to accept it as it's set a precedent on 'spoiled' ballot papers which should not be counted. Rubbish.....the hypocrisy has been coming from you all along. I've no idea who or what the Independent councilor represented, they may well have been pro-Brexit, but what happened is still imo wrong. It was a 'spoiled' ballot paper and you know damn well it was. Writing anything other than an X in the box and the paper shouldn't be counted yet you're continuing to make excuses purely because it involved a Tory councilor.
