enodreven
Hi Just a quick check to see if you have Clear Type turned on and are using Windows XP (1) Open your desk top (the mainly blank screen where your icons are which opens when you turn the computer on) (2) Move your mouse pointer into a blank area of the screen and press the RIGHT button (3) This will open a small window and at the bottom you will see the word "Properties" move the mouse highlighter down to cover the word and press the LEFT button. (4) This should have opened another slightly larger window with a title at the top DISPLAY PROPERTIES (5) Just below the title you should see a row of tabs named "Themes - Desktop - Screen Saver - Appearance - Settings" move your mouse to the one named "Appearance" and press the LEFT button (6) This should open another window and down near the bottom Right hand side you should see 2 buttons named "Effects" and " Advanced" move your mouse and LEFT click on the one that says "Effects" (7) This will open another window Titled "Effects" on the second row down on this window you will see a small square and the words "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts : LEFT click on the small square adjacent to this writing and a tick should appear. or if you already have a tick there now check the little window directly below the writing if it says Standard you need to click on the downward facing arrow and it will reveal the words ClearType just click on that and the little window should now show the word ClearType if it doesn't try again, once you have the word ClearType just click OK at the bottom of the window and on every other window and THAT'S IT if you are lucky the writing under your icons and everywhere else should be clearer Hope it works, let me know how you get on
