Knaus
Hi Anyone have any ideas for a site this Easter weekend within an hour & half (max) drive of Portsmouth? Would prefer a quiet site without entertainment etc.
colin
How about Glastonbury? 'The Isle of Avalon' campsite, never been at easter, but go at carnival time when its packed. Handy for walking to town, or a walk through town and up the tor if you are half way fit.
Bazza454
Hi, Stayed on this Glastonbury site last year. Average sort of site - for some reason the loos keep winning "loo of the year award". If you do stay, watch the electrics, keeps cutting out at anything over 5amp, although you can reset it yourself at the bollard. Handy for the town though. Keith T
DOn;'t know if you are interested in Cities, History, Culture etc, but Salisbury is good for this. There are 2 good sites (may be more, of coiurse) within easy reach of the sity...the C&CC at Old Sarum, rather open and in rows, but does have views, and which is walkable into the city; then the Caravan Club at Hillside, Lopcombe Corner, on the Andover Road, which is (was!) on a bus route into town, and we've always found a very enjoyable 'coutry' site..
