mikewill7
I have a Tracvision R4SL system fitted to my MH and a Avtex Tv. This set up was working fine but I am now getting a “No CI Module” can I just buy a CI card and slot it into the TV. Any assistance would be appreciated
colin
You would only expect to see this message if trying to access subscription channels such as Sky ones, Freesat channels should be fine.
mikewill7
Wow that was s speedy reply, but I can’t get any channels FTA or Encrypted just this no CI Module message ?
colin
A CI (common interface) module is nothing to do with FTA channels, therefore there must be another problem, it sounds like the Avtex has a problem, but there's an outside chance it might be the Tracvision needs a update, which model Avtex is it? StuartO
I have an R4SL which is still working and still does the job well. Parts are still available, but this model is no longer made and so depending on the fault, yours may or may not be economical to repair. The pcb for example costs £750, so if that's the problem you will probably write it off. I have had to get the transponder settings updated (to match the satellite changes) a couple of times on mine so that's a potential issue if you have simply lost the stations. The expert I call upon is Nathan at Conrod Anderson in Birmingham. He may well be able to diagnose your problem over the telephone and advise you about repair. If it's just resetting for the transponders it shouldn't cost you more than about £150 for the two or three hours labour.
colin
If you have a home satellite system, you can either connect the Avtex to that, or take the home system to van. This will pin point which part has a problem.
