stevec176
Hi, I'm going to be driving down to Portsmouth from Norwich on Friday and need to fill with gas before getting ferry to Spain. Having looked on FillLPG it shows that Sainsburys at Colney just off the M25 supply LPG. Can anyone confirm thats still true and can I access the pump with my 3mtr high motorhome. Have tried phoning but no reply Thanks
Deneb
I don't know about London Conley but the BP services on the A41 at Bourne End (Hemel Hempstead) is only a few miles off of the M25 at junction 20, will be accessible for your van and has LPG. One side of the pump is faulty and cuts off prematurely but the opposite side is fine. The cashiers are aware and will put you right if you use the wrong one, though for some reason seem reluctant to put a sign on the pump,
bobalobs
I expect you will be travelling down the A3 so the Shell stations on the A3 just south of Liphook will be the place to stop. We always use them and no access problems. Not that it effects us but it is said that the pump stops at 100 litres so the big RV going to Spain for the winter have to restart the pump! ColinM50
Or the Flogas refinery at Fawley, Southampton. Cheapest to buy from them rather than a petrol garage. Charleston Industrial Estate Cadland Road Fawley Southampton SO45 3NX
Barney123
If you are travelling down via Ipswich A12/A14, Morrisons have LPG and no problems getting it there.
TeamRienza
Perhaps not an immediate issue for your trip but be aware that Shell are phasing out the sale of LPG. This has been confirmed to a well regarded member of the autosleeper owners forum. stevec176
Thanks for all the suggestions. Was looking at the Colney site as it's a good wee stop before facing the traffic around the M25 and Heathrow area.
PCC
Having once had my camper sideswiped at the London Colney petrol pumps by a car/van transporter with a sprinter on the back I'm pretty certain you'll be OK. Peter
PCC
A bit late now but for future reference the barrier to the shops is 4m high and the petrol station canopy looks about the same. Certainly more than 3m. Peter
stevec176
Thanks everyone for info / advice, filled gas at Colney, no problems other than wife needed M&S. Now pulling into Santander after what started out as a very choppy trip and the better half using up her monthly allowance of sick bags. Let the holiday begin.
