Westiedog
Hi everyone, new member here! Also totally new to motorhoming! Just about got to grips with the instruction manual for our Autocruise Starburst. However, our problem is with the cab air conditioning. Not working, so we had it re-gassed - still not working. So, it's now with a mechanic who has tried everything. Changing the trinary switch, checking all the electrics, compressor etc. It has come down to a small black box that seems to drive the fans and the aircon and engages the compressor clutch, its housed in the cab at the base of the drivers side in the footwell (but hidden from view). But Peugeot say it isn't a patent part of theirs. Our mechanic is at a loss as to where it's come from and who would have fitted it. We are assuming Autocruise but as they no longer exist it's difficult to find out. Long shot, but has anybody out there had similar cab aircon problems and knows about this black box? thebishbus
Can you hear a click from the compressor clutch when you switch the aircon on ? If not the fuse or clutch relay could be faulty. Is the black box the clutch relay ?. Brian B.

thebishbus
Should have mentioned if the clutch/relay is clicking, test if the magnetic clutch is engaging.Remove the drive belt. The pulley should turn freely by hand. Switch the aircon on. The click should be heard ,If the clutch has engaged the pulley will now be very stiff to turn as it has engaged the compresor . Brian B. tonyishuk
Just in case you have not tried it, is the fault generated by the fan speed switch not working. Oft my navigator, has reported the air con is not working, only To find that the fan was off. Rgds
