As for his guff about "40 new hospitals and the 50,000 nurses".....yet more hot air from the windbag as he's already admitted only 31,000 nurses will actually be new recruits. So going off that.....don't hold your breath over the "40 new hospitals" either. :-( https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/boris-johnson-tories-new-nurses-promise-50000-31000-a9237676.html I assumed Bigparkies post was a joke. Maybe it wasnt. 8-) It's funny how you members of the Loser Brigade forget why we needed austerity *-) ........ Its was because a Labour government had F*CKED UP the economy yet AGAIN >:-) ....... We never needed Austerity. Plenty of other countries, Australia, USA to name just two did not go down the Austerity route and invested to boost the economy and fared better than we did. They didn't have a previous Labour government who had emptied their bank account like Labour *-) .......

We absolutely did need austerity, you have to live within your means. I stand by what I said. Many countries were effected just like us by the financial crash and those that did not go down the austerity route and instead chose to invest and stimulate the economy generally fared better. I know it sounds wrong and I actually agreed at the time it was necessary but apparently not.
747 Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Australia cannot be compared with the UK Barry. Small population and massive exports of minerals lessened the impact of a GLOBAL recession.

The UK has large financial sector which is why we were more adversely affected than countries like Australia :-| .......... Which is why the current global downturn will affect major exporting countries like Germany more than us, plus they won't have the advantage of the Brexit Bounce to help boost their economy :D .........
