Mike Rolls
We are thinking of visiting this site in May. In the details it says that from the south there is an archway at Bolton Priory of 10' 9" height so that is out, but we are coming from the north anyway. However, on the site it also says that the B6160 is unsuitable for caravans - but what about motorhomes? Ours is an Autotrail Cheyenne - 22' odd long. I regular drive it on our narrow, twisty roads up here (Scotland) so I'm no stranger to taking little roads carefully. Any views on the B6160 approach from the north please? Can't ask the site direct as they aren't open yet TIA Mike
twooks
You should be ok coming from the north, it's classic CC worrying about caravanners. We've only ever had a problem with any of our vans on the width restriction on the arch, used to have to fold in a wing mirror on the old A class -just to be on the safe side - and used the north access on a couple of trips because of that. It's a lovely spot, especially down by the Abbey, but haven't been for a while and we're no longer members of cc. {they used to have a classic jobsworth as a warden, which was such a shame}. have fun B-)
