Bulletguy
UK was considered among the world leaders in science but Nobel prize winning scientist Sir Paul Nurse believes the ‘politics’ of Brexit has caused scientists in other countries to look down on the UK with it's nostalgia for an imperial history that no longer exists. Sir Paul was one of 29 Nobel prize winners who signed a letter informing government needed to ‘wake up’ to the fact that top talent will be lost and research seriously harmed by lost funding from the EU. At the time, a survey of more than 1,000 staff at the Francis Crick Institute found 97% of them believed a hard Brexit would be bad for UK science and 82% thought it would have a detrimental effect on European science. The London-based Crick Institute is the biggest biomedical research lab under one roof in Europe. https://tinyurl.com/y47vr6jz
