ramsay
I bought a small fan electric heater for when on 240 hook up. The heater will not switch on in motorhome when hooked up to 240 ? But the fan works in my home ? Is there any particular fan heater you need to buy for a motorhome ? Has anyone eles experienced this problem ? Thanks. mel wood
For many years we have had an "ordinary" fan heater and used it when necessary in two vans with no problems. (I assume that you have checked that the socket is fine by trying another appliance.)
Ninian
Hi, Obviously you have a problem with your 240v system. If you plug something else in does that work correctly. If not check your circuit breakers have not tripped. The appliance you have bought maybe have overloaded the system and tripped it.
ramsay
Yeah i have tried the sockets with other appliances and they all work, i have just noticed i have a fuse blown in the internal fuse box going to replace a fuse to see if that makes a differance ? colin
You need to test the socket after trying to use the heater, and test the heater again in your house. When it comes to mains power items for motorhomes, many people just use ordinary household items, there are lower powered items available, and these might be useful where the EHU is lower ampage. At this time of year when we might use EHU we carry a low power electric heater and a travel kettle.
Charles
We sometimes take a mini 500w fan heater if it's cold. You're not trying to power it from a small inverter are you . :D
