Hi, I have decided to sell my motorhome and buy a caravan. The problem is that the motorhome is very good (Burstner Solano) with a very comfy fixed bed. It also has quite a lot of storage specs, especially in the kitchen area.

The problem is that, as we aren't used to towing we'd like a smallish van, but reasonable quality, a fixed bed and reasonable amount of room in the kitchen.

We've been looking at Coachman and Bailey. We do like the Coachman, but the only ones with fixed beds are too big for us newbies. We do like the French bed we have now.

Any suggestions?

For a start you will find that this is not a very busy forum you should try another one.

I changed from a motor-home to a caravan about 8 years ago I hated the idea of towing but found it quite simple as to fixed bed you will not find a small one. Ours has the usual double sofas which adapt to a giant bed in less than 5 mins. Fixed beds take up too much space in a caravan.

If you haven’t already done so, try asking about this on the Practical Caravan forum.

It’s hopeless for motorhome-related enquiries but OK for caravans, and registration is immediate.

Bailey’s Phoenix 440 is probably the smallest current UK-built caravan with a fixed bed
