UK just under 1% with 95% protection and (as we know) 25% with 85% protection.

But we don't "know", we have the Wail and Co screaming Doris was "right in his gamble with your life and the future efficacy of the vaccine " (I've paraphrased slightly for brevity) when more responsible publications are stressing that more research is still needed in this area. Luckily for them they have the UK as a laboratory and a few more thousand deaths in our world beating figures won't look so bad.

So we will in time "know", but at the time Bullet posted his graph with individual countries listed it was 100% accurate as to the number of people vaccinated.

Not entirely sure what Wail and co is.....

https://www.reuters.com/article/health-coronavirus-israel-vaccine-idUSL8N2KO72J

Israel study shows 85% effectiveness.

I didn’t say the graph was inaccurate just didn’t show the whole picture.

From that link

"The FDA said in December data from those trials showed that the vaccine began conferring some protection to recipients before they received the second shot, but more data would be needed to assess the potential of a single-dose shot.

Pfizer has said alternative dosing regimens of the vaccine have not been evaluated yet".

And "Sheba said among 7,214 hospital staff who received their first dose in January, there was an 85% reduction in symptomatic COVID-19 within 15 to 28 days. The overall reduction of infections, including asymptomatic cases detected by testing, was 75%.

Sheba epidemiologist Gili Regev-Yochay cautioned that the cohort studied at the hospital were “mostly young and healthy”.

Unlike with Pfizer’s clinical trial, “we don’t have many (staff) here aged over 65,” she told reporters. But she also noted that the Sheba study took place during a surge in COVID-19 infections in Israel, which flooded hospitals with new cases."

So no the Israeli study doesn't show 85% effectiveness, it MAY show 85% effectiveness but further studies are needed. The good news is that you having had your vaccination are now part of that trial, well done for giving your informed consent to being a Guinea pig on the effect on a older age range.

Exactly ,i think that's very positive news.

I haven't had a jab yet but am looking forward to having it for the protection it will give.

The Israeli report describes observations made during three weeks in January and February when researchers were able to compare health records of unvaccinated people and people who had gotten their second shot more than a week before. They then compared the groups for five covid-19 outcomes: infection, symptoms, hospitalizations, critical hospitalization, and death. The unpublished study says the vaccine was around 93% effective in preventing symptomatic covid-19. Pfizer and its partner, the German biotechnology firm BioNTech, had found 95% effectiveness in their clinical trials carried out in 2020. The country-wide study was also able to show that hospitalizations and deaths dropped by similar amounts in the vaccinated group

So as you don’t want to discuss Motorhomes, I’ll go back to your graph.

It shows Germany 2% with 95% protection.

France 1.5% with 95% protection.

UK just under 1% with 95% protection and (as we know) 25% with 85% protection.

Oi! :D .............It's my job to annoy the HATERS (lol) (lol) (lol) ...........

And let's not forget that amongst those vaccine developers were the EU who had the foresight to fund BioNTech in 2018

Amazingly it seems the US threw $1.2 billion at AstraZeneca in May. The UK government a poxy £65m which is a fraction on what they spaffed off to their cronies for a plethora of failed or inadequate PPE, Track and Trace and useless apps.

The EU was also the largest funder of the Oxford medical research lab who developed the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine.

Jenner Institute out of pocket with expected loss of its largest funder, the European Commission

The head of a UK institute behind a promising coronavirus vaccine candidate is concerned about how to replace European Union funding after Brexit.

Adrian Hill, who is director of the Jenner Institute at the University of Oxford (pictured), made the comments following news that their vaccine—known as ChAdOx1 nCoV-19—had produced a promising immune response in a large, early-stage human trial.

Always interesting to get an unbiased view from Boris Johnsons vaccine minister.

;-)

But at least they are not claiming that it will stop you getting the virus.
