Mike Chapman
Does anyone on this forum own or have any knowledge of the new Geist or LMC Motor Caravans? I have a particular interest in the Touring 708 and Touring 7100. Any information about the vans, dealers, or manufacturer greatfully received. Regards, Mike. Derek Uzzell
There's a fair bit of stuff on www.geistowners.co.uk Personally, when I've looked at Geist show models I've always been underwhelmed.
Clive
All the LMC Caravans I have seen have been either German and wide in France or a few owned by Itinerant travellers in the UK. So I guess they cost a bomb! C.
Guest starspirit
A neighbour has a new LMC (A700 I think) and whilst I have not seen inside it yet it is big (6 berth), slab sidedly ugly, and has the door on the wrong side which added to having cost upwards of a king's ransom leaves me underwhelmed too. Brian Kirby
Not sure about Geist, but Lord Munsterland Caravans (LMC), is part of the Hymer group, and has just launched a Hymer B series (A Class) clone range, called Liberty Finish. Three models, 590 (longitudinal permanent double bed in rear, drop down double at the front), 680 (single beds at rear, drop down double at the front) and 690 (transverse double over garage at rear, drop down double at the front). Mel E
Geist are built by LMC specifically for the UK market, so are rare. TEC motorhomes are built in the same factory, all brands that are owned by Hymer. Given a free choice, I'd go for Hymer's Burstner brand any day - great choice, well built (better than Hymer), good prices, and good UK backup at many different dealerships - so not too far to go. Mike Chapman
Thank you all for your comments, it seems the general consensus is that Geist are underwhelming then. Mel E, Thanks for the comments regarding Burstner, we are looking at the Burstner Solano 700 as one of several possible choices. Regards, Mike.
