There’s a fair amount of online discussion about this

but the best cleaning approach will depend on the make of blind, the material it is made from, its age and condition.

Some details of your motorhome might help (make, model, build-year) just in case there’s a known blind-related issue as there once was with a batch of Remis concertina blinds that discolored as a result of a manufacturing fault.

Pleated blinds can be very fragile and, having vacuumed yours, you might be wise to leave them alone rather than risk damage by trying a more aggressive cleaning technique.

Hi Alison and welcome to this fine forum. The answer to your problem in in some ways is easy, soap & warm water often does the trick. However the co-driver and I had a routine if one inside & the other outside soapy sponge in hand(s). In our case it is salt spray from our regular stops along the seaside. Now on the soap box - fly screens are IMHO one of the weak links in the RV industry. Our previous motorhome had pleated blinds and fly screen door that were a source of regular frustration . The pleating lost it's set and then the cords often failed. We replaced the fly screen door 4 times in 6 years and the blinds all at least once. My advice is regular cleaning will increase the life of this item with suds. Cheers,
