Cruisecontrol
Has anyone purchased and used a Nomadiq portable bbq? For over 10 years we've been using the Crusader type of bbq ( about.£25 with lava rocks with a single burner). They do the job but the burner rusts out within 2 years if used frequently (3 months per year).I don't know how many we have brought over the years but the first one was £15 !! At about £109 the twin burner Nomadiq burner is made in stainless steel & weighing 6 kg seems to be a good alternative. The price in the US is about $300 but arrive assembled. The UK. price is about £109 on Amazon, but requires assembly taking 90 minutes!! YouTube shows them being screwed into a 417 type gas cannister. Has anyone bought one, if so what are their thoughts and can they be adapted to fit an outlet on a motorhome using the usual tubing?
Derek Uzzell
Cruisecontrol - 2021-09-05 12:31 PM ...can they be adapted to fit an outlet on a motorhome using the usual tubing? This link is to an advert for an extended gas hose for a nomadiQ BBQ https://wildbounds.com/products/extended-gas-hose-orange?variant=40008024588455&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI28Hs3-ru8gIVQht7Ch1DtgtpEAQYASABEgKSC_D_BwE The 30mbar regulator provided looks like the type used for connecting to a Calor 4.5kg butane canister, but the principle involved means that it should be practicable to use a similar method to connect to a motorhome external BBQ gas outlet where the gas pressure would already have been regulated. What would be needed would be a hose with one end-fitting suitable for connecting to the standard nomadiQ split hose, with the other end-fitting suitable for connecting to the motorhome’s BBQ gas outlet. The extended gas hose product might be modified using readily available connectors or (if it could be established what connector is needed to link to the nomadiQ split hose) DIYing the complete hose + connectors combination would likely be a cheaper alternative. Cruisecontrol
Yes thanks Derek, your assumptions are much in line with own. I'll wait a while to see if anyone has actually bought one these and can comment - failing that I'll probably "bite the bullet and report back. ColinM50
I have no knowledge of this BBQ, just to say we've given up on BBQ's and are converted to tepenyaki. Easier and cleaner and running off electric very convenient. We've got this one: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8974200
