Fifo
Are homemade or other cloth masks (not bandanas or scarves) allowed in Spain or must all masks be surgical approved ones ?
Den
While in Spain we used a combination of material and surgical approved ones. The Surgical approved ones will give you better protection, being designed for fine micron contaminated droplets. We noted that the locals were using mostly surgical type. Hopefully we’ll go back in May and we’ll then only use the surgical type purely for safety reasons and disposing of every day. While working in the hospitals we’d change regularly and this prior to covid. Den
Steve H
We recently visited an open air market in Benicassim where the stalls were selling boxes of 100 surgical masks for two euro's - treat yourself!

Deffheads
We are currently in Los Boliches near Fuengirola, masks to be worn in all shops and public transport, everybody follows the rules even wearing in the street. The type of mask is not stipulated as many shops sell custom fabric ones, I am sure if a visit to a medical centre or hospital then an approved mask would be needed. Excellent, thank you. My OH prefers homemade cloth ones ( triple layer) and we were concerned that everyone we’d seen in photos had surgical type.
