Grumpyman
Brought a Flo Test Kit from Boots and tried to register with the NHS website only for it to reject the result. after many attempts. On phoning the NHS helpline only to be told that Flo tests not supplied by the NHS do not register. So what a farce regarding the figures that are put out. colin
The figures for CV-19 infections across the country are now mostly derived from the ONS sentinel study, and have been for some time, this is seen nowadays as more accurate than adding up submitted test results. Grumpyman
Surely this is not an accurate figure if personal tests are not ta Ken in to account.
colin
The ONS survey is seen as much more accurate than adding up random test results, in fact test results, made such as you have, are seen as a distraction from the true figures.
Grumpyman
Sorry disagree, thousands not taken in to account doesn't make a true reflection.
colin
Grumpyman - 2022-07-04 1:40 PM Sorry disagree, thousands not taken in to account doesn't make a true reflection. To understand the situation you need to understand how the sentinel study works and statistics. Aside from that trying to rely solely on test data would produce very low infection figures at the moment, the ONS sentinel study picks up vastly more of those who are infected, this is then (in simple terms) multiplied up by the size of population. This might not be 100% accurate, but it is much more accurate than totting up test results
