How long do you spend on your computer

While I am waiting for my van to arrive from our German cousins I reckon my time on here is very well spent. Every good idea is written down and put in a ringbinder ready to be incorporated when my Knaus finally graces the driveway so, even as a complete newbie to MHing I should be able to look forward to a relatively snag-free first few trips. Like all married men I have to maintain a reputation as a technical "miracle worker" for the OH!

2-3 hours Don but then as Howie says probably seems longer as we always leave them on all over the house ! Never log off but then thats what we are paying for ....So I,m on when I,m off ;-)

My wife and I both have computers, we never switched them off.

When the cost of energy went sky high, I phoned Powergen, asking what it cost to run a PC.

I was quoted 7P TO 11P an hour.

So at the lowest cost, if their quote was correct,

equals 7p* 24* 90 days a quarter =£151.20

So 2 pc's were costing £302.40 a quarter.

We only turn them on now when we use them,

and my electric bill as dropped like a stone.

Sorry Don, not trying to hijack your thread.

Does this cost include when your computer is set in energy saving mode?

Am I having a blonde moment? I cannot make that work out, are you saying that is if you leave your computer on 24 hours a day, I worked it out using it 4 hours a day and it comes to little over a £100 per year!

then I fell in :D One NIL One NIl

Bet you just logged off but could,nt bear the thought of missing something spicy.

Must admit to being supprised at how much it costs to run a puter though. Never leave anything on standby. Use it then knock it straight off.
