Barry Lineker Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Would a 92 year old lady be allowed to drive a large motorhome?🤔 https://uk.news.yahoo.com/snp-finance-probe-police-scotland-084954145.html Just asking incase any fellow forum members are thinking of buying their mum such an expensive present😏
B Dobson Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Not sure what the rules are ... Wether the old lady is legally allowed to drive it or not its an amazing gesture to have one bought for you with one presumes hard earned cash ... I have noticed this story is from Scotland and the rules may well be different there and the 92 year old lady might not even be a lady ... Hope they enjoy their travels either way and its a lovely motorhome

If someone meets the required medical standards and has the appropriate driving-licence entitlement, they are legally permitted to drive a vehicle that their entitlement applies to no matter how old they are. Vale-Onslow was a motorcycle builder and lived to 103. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Len_Vale-Onslow He was still riding motorbikes on UK roads aged over-100. There was a story that a traffic policeman stopped him for speeding and, on checking his driving-licence, said "There's a mistake here - this licence indicates you are 101". "That's correct", said Vale-Onslow and the policeman replied "OK, anyone who survives on a motorbike to that age deserves a speeding freebie!" I notice that the newspaper article says that the large motorhome "...was taken from outside the Fife home of Mr Murrell's 92-year-old mother". It does not say that it was owned by Mr Murrel's mother nor that she drove it. (Don't let this thread get 'political' or you know what will happen!!)
