Help with spring on 1976 Sprite Musketeer

Hello everyone, I’m after some help working out what I need to replace a broken spring on my caravan.  It’s a 1976 sprite musketeer and I noticed on the underside a spring hanging down from the solid brake line that should be connected to the chassis.  My best guess is that this is to assist pulling the brakes off.  Despite extensive internet searching I cannot seem to find any.  Could anyone firstly help to confirm that is its function and then point me towards any suppliers of such a spring please.  I’m assuming I would be best to replace both sides to ensure even force from new springs.  Any help, advice very gratefully received !  Attached photo of what remains of the offending item.

Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums, Kev.

Now the bad news...

Nowadays these forums focus almost exclusively on motorhomes and the last entry on the Caravan Chat forum was in 2021. So the chances of you getting specific advice here regarding your caravan's broken spring are likely to be very slim.

You might try asking  on the Practical Caravan forum

but your best bet may be to enquire through these Facebook groups
