Robert Tuddenham
Hi New to this forum. We live in Australia and wanting to do a motorhome swap which we have done in the past. The problem now is although I have an English driver's licence I have been told that the swap people in UK cannot get insurance for me because I am now 75 and not a UK resident to drive their motorhome. Does anyone know how we can get around this or an insurance company that will cover me. Thanks for any help. Bob
Derek Uzzell
Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums, Bob. In this link the acceptance criteria are said to include a driver's age range from 18-75. https://www.temporarycarinsurance.ws/temporary-car-insurance-with-australian-licences.html A GOOGLE-search on vehicle insurance for australian visitors aged over 75 retrieves some entries that may be worth you following up, including this one. https://www.prudentplus.com/car-insurance/short-term-car-insurance-with-australian-licence.html
stevec176
A couple of years ago I obtained insurance for my son in law, who's Australian with Australian licence without problem but last year I couldn't find any company who would accept his licence. All the companies I tried would only accept either a full international driving licence or UK licence so will look at your links as he's back later this year, thanks.
