Fitting second battery in Ford mk 8 Chausson

Recommended Posts

I assume your motorhome is still the 2019 Chausson Welcome 630 your earlier battery-related enquiry mentioned...

This 2015 Chausson User's Manual is the most recent I can find on-line

https://www.chausson-camping-cars.fr/wp-content/uploads/MANUEL-Chausson-2015-Anglais.pdf

and advice on the leisure-battery housed beneath the cab passenger seat is on Pages 22 and 23. (Copied below)

The Exide ES900 is a quite large battery (Length 353 mm, Width 175 mm, Height 190 mm) and I'd be surprised if a pair could be shoehorned into the under-seat space without some serious modifications being required.

Although there has been O&AL forum discussion in the past about doing this with Fiat-Ducato based motorhomes, I don't recall a similar exercise being discussed here relating to Ford Transit MK 8 vehicles. If you remove the passenger seat, you should get a reasonable idea of whether this is practicable and what might be involved.
