ike
Travelled from dover with SeaFrance on 23 August. Went to office to change ferry and noticed the leaflet re not taking meat etc into France. Went back to van and stuffed our faces with spag bolognese and cheese that had been earmarked for our meal in France. Were left with venison, bacon, more cheese and was loathe to throw it away. Parked on the parade I spotted a guy walking past the van , asked him if he was local ( ie not heading for his yacht) and did he want some venison. What's that then? he asked. Told him it was deer (and it was dear cos I'd bought it from the farmers' market), told him how to cook it and off he went. Ten mimutes later I spotted him looking at the parked vans, obviously trying to remember who had given him the grub. Popped my head out the van , perhaps he was looking for some culinary tips? No he was looking for some "spare change". Maybe he just wanted to buy a cheeky wee beaujolais! Gave me a laugh. (lol) (lol) (lol) Ike
