Dave ... you can have him if you want! 8-) Oooo, "The Persuaders", lovely Tony Curtis (well he was then!), and of course "Starsky and Hutch" - whey-hey!!!!! Who remembers "Crown Court"? You never knew what the outcome was going to be. And "Rumpole of the Bailey", ugly old toad but a great series.Of all the cop shows though, "Columbo" has to be my all time favourite, seen the loads of times.

Sparkle:

Just shows how young you are !

We used to listen to Childrens Hour on the radio ( on the Light Programme if I remember rightly).

Then someone invented telly.

:-D I get my shiny 40 next year! (lol)

I can't remember 40.

Did that come before 50 ?

The Flumps - I remember them very well, they were on around 1979-81 as I named my first dog after one of them, Pootle. They 'children' flumps were called Posey, Pootle and Perkin. Posey and Perkin were the older ones and Pootle was the little one who always sounded if it had a cold ... can't remember if it was male or female!

It wasn't Godfrey Cushion, it was Humphrey Cusion with his long nose and Dusty Mop, in Hickory House I think. Can't remember the bloke who was in it unfortunately who kept them from squabbling all the time.

Yes I do! he gave us an after dinner talk at a 'Pru do' many years ago and gee whiz what a yarn spinner he was - had us all in tears of laughter for ages!

The Wooden Tops (and not because of my earlier career!!)

Andy Pandy

Captain Pugwash & Stowaway Tom

There where so many and, I suggest, a far better content than some of the programmes my grandchildren watch today. (It's sooo Raven!!!??)

(Or am I getting 'mature')

Sooty for Prime Minister!!! (Well he cannot be any worse, can he?? :-> :-> )

Regards, Mike

I thought Tom was the cabin boy on the Black Pig?

Does no one recall the original Magic Roundabout or one of the very best ever programmes - the Clangers (with the friendly soup dragon)!

If you are really old you may recall a ten minute slot every Friday on BBC (before it was 1 or 2) called 'Out of Town' with a curmudgeonly old geezer called Jack Hargreaves?

The fore runner of many wild life programmes maybe?

I used to listen to Dick Barton, then they took it off and put the Archers on. Never forgave the Beeb for that. Now how old is that.

Mick H: I seem to remember that when Dick Barton finished it was replaced by something about a circus for a while and the Archers came after that ????

Can't remember what it was called, and I don't think it lasted long.

(I think they should bring back Dick Barton).

Not sure exactly but I believe they still used steam to power radios at the time ;-)
