twooks
Hawes is a good site, just on the edge of town - easy stagger back from the pub - and you have the option of exploring the Dales and Eastern Lakes. Grange is a bit more of a stagger back :-> B-)
Mel B
Can highly recommend CC site and Southport, very well located, only a short walk from the beach for the doggies to have a 'skate' on the frozed pools. Also only about 10 mins max walk into the town with plenty of shops, restaurants etc. We spent a few days there in December 2006, if it wasn't so far for us we'd go again. If the main sites are too expensive for you, why not try some of the CLs, there are quite a few open all year and some have hardstandings and facilities as well if that's what you want.
