GJH
parkmoy - 2007-11-22 12:16 PM I used 'admin cockup' as a generic term to cover poor management, systems failure etc. I didn't mean it to cover just minor slip ups, rather to emphasize that I didn't consider this to be a planned criminal act. Clearly senior heads should roll but whether that happens is another matter. Fair enough, I didn't mean any offence. Interesting that the reason for not producing a data extract may be that it would have cost too much. Makes me wonder how many other laws are too expensive for government departments to comply with. One element which saddens me is (according to the BBC) that Brown is giving the Information Commissioner powers to carry out spot checks on public bodies but has rejected calls to give him power to mount spot checks on private firms which hold personal data, such as banks or internet search companies. Having suffered more data inaccuracies from private copmanies than public bodies I should certainly like to see all organisations subject to the same rules. Mel B
Michele, you can! In order to sell or buy on ebay you hae to be a registered user and give address and billing details. Yes, you can give false info but if he was doing it only for a laugh I doubt he did! :-|
