Roadside hedges

Can anyone explain why the powers that be that cut hedges along roads are now cutting said hedges level with the edge of the roads and not back a yard (sorry metre) from the edge as they used to.When they were cut back you could safely drive with your wheels almost touching the bank with no fear of clattering your mirror. Now you have to drive to the middle of the road with the resut that if someone comes around the bend a bit swift you lose your offside mirror, which is what has happened to me twice in the last month, and Hymer mirrors dont come cheap.

Don't you mean "not cutback enough" Malc?

That's a point Tony.

The cutbacks have been reduced - we would normally welcome that. ;-)

I dont think it's cutbacks or not as the case may be, the hedges are being cut, but not so far back.Must be some logic somewhere, just cant see it.
