davep
Hi All, I attended glastonbury last year and loved it, so much I am going this year. However getting all my gear from the car to the camping field is a fair treck. So I thought I'd ask for suggestions on how best to cart lots of gear around. I'd be very interested in innovative trolly's / carts etc. Thanks in advance
Guest Tracker
I would have thought that maybe a golf trolley which can be bought quite cheaply these days would be as good a base to start with as it is light, foldable and has a wide track and wide wheels that should not sink too deep into the mud? davep
Tracker, I like your thinking I found an old golf trolly last year and used that for all the same reasons, as you have suggested. However it was a bit of a disaster. The wide wheels are great & the folding aspect of it. but attached a tent, bag, beer & food to a golf trolly just didnt work. Guest Tracker
Why didn't it work Dave? Too heavy, too bulky, unstable, not strong enough? Giss a clue!
davep
tracker, the golf trolly was not able to keep anything attached to it, secure enough. the walk from car to camp is very bumpy, so everything became unbalanced etc and forever needed adjusting. Guest Tracker
Trolleys used by fishermen to cart all their gear along a river bank might be another possibility? You would lose the foldability I suppose but could you not fix supporting beams or plywood with straps or rope to contain all the clobber between the wheelbase? Or build a box on it and redesign the handle to allow the box to stay level?
davep
possibly, but am curious to see what if any other camping devices are out there.
Keithl
Hi Dave, Try searching on eBay for 'Garden Cart' or similar, it comes up with loads of possibilities from garden centre type trucks to painted wagons. Let us know how you get on. Keith. Edit. Just found the perfect thing Link.
