When the going gets tough ... The EU gets going ... Lordy ... Role on Christmas

The EU is doing wonders for those in Europe, who like us Brexiteers seek freedom B-) ........

Kinda get the feeling the "EU every country for themselves" reality will get worse once they try to get out of the financial mess the world will be in, once Chinky Flu has passed 8-) ..........

At least they apologised it seems. As far as Pelmet Head is concerned Johnson could go around lopping off peoples heads dressed only in his Y fronts while shaking hands with everyone he meets and he would still think he was doing a good job. When are we going to see some apologies for the seven weeks hey dicked about toying with the now bottled and failed herd immunity plan? Or perhaps an apology for lying about just about everything from securing vital testing to not taking part in the EU PPE Procurement plan because it wasnt very Brexity?

I think it would be foolhardy to guess just who will come out of this the best, who will need the most help and where it will come from. We should keep our options open. Thats why we should agree to a transition period extension. Go for three years even. The advantage of that could be that if indeed the EU does fall apart and it looks like we would be better off out we can just do what they always planned anyway and walk away. On the other hand we might be glad to be in the club. It remains to be seen.

Given guessing is what you do best and normally you "guess" wrong its a bit rich you having a dig at others who might "guess" what may or may not happen ... Jog on sweet cheeks

Care to comment on the logic in my post though? If you could hedge your bets why wouldn't you?

Not really a good idea as we are likely then to get drawn in to their collective coronavirus debt.

Would that be worse than the debts BoJo is racking up now?

At least the EU debt is for stuff that has been delivered and which works

Not the useless testing kits BoJo has bought

Well thats my whole point, we wouldn't. The extended Transition period would be there if we wanted it but as Brexiteers have been telling us for years if its not working out we can just walk away, end the transition early. That is effectively what they are going to do anyway at the end of this year and with no hope in hell of a deal (partly because they dont want one anyway) we may as well hang on longer and see how it all pans out.

There is and argument of course that its vital Europe shares its debt and brings the worst hit economies back online and sees them through this. Europe is still our biggest trading partner and if it goes under, we go under whether we are in the EU or not. For all we know the way Trump is handling the virus I wouldnt depend on the USA being our savour either. No, now is the time to box clever and keep our options open. We dont want to be falling out with anyone unless its the right thing to do.

Barry wants to "keep our options open" with the EU , the same EU that has done nothing to help Italy in its hour of need ... You couldn't make it up

The “scientists “ have told us there is no such thing as herd immunity perhaps it’s copious amounts of sex that’s the answer.

We are thank fully out of The Club now No going back no transition extension will change that. The Billions we would have spent in membership are now being spent at home

You're wrong again. Shows how little you know. We are still making the same payments and bound by the same EU rules. The only thing that has changed is we no longer have a seat at the table or any say in the rules we are bound by. And since we are no longer in on the meetings we have to employ more people to try and find out second-hand whats being decided for us.

Or maybe they are able to self isolate because they don't have Britain's housing crisis

I thought sex was the important bit with self isolating.
