alalalal Posted August 16, 2019 Share Posted August 16, 2019 Hello I'm looking for replacement glass for my Knaus Sport T1 650, 2007. Had a little incident and came off worse B-) . Doesn't help having a LHD. It is built on a Renault Master II chassis, However, the mirrors I am advised to buy are not what I have on my vehicle. I've asked Knaus for help and gave them their peculiar number for the build, and they have advised me to seek help from my FIAT dealer :-( . There is no OEM number on the wing mirror casing, although there are a few Renault numbers of 5 and 6 digits. So, the question is - does anyone know which wing mirrors I have and which model of the Renault I should be looking for? Incidentally, Renault have asked approx £70 for replacement glass for the mirror, but I'm not sure if it's the right mirror, and I don't want to pay that much anyway. Last bit of info to help you perhaps to help me. A possible OEM for the whole mirror assembly is 7700376767, but I'm not absolutely sure that this is the correct one, Thank you. I’ve attached a photo of the model of motorhome that I believe matches your vehicle and this shows that the mirrors were the twin-arm type fitted to Renault Mascott small lorries. Thisi type of mirror was discussed here in 2012 in the following thread (some of the links will be ‘dead’ now) https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Hints-and-Tips/Renault-Master-Wing-Mirrors/29316/ and I note that mirror glasses for Mascotts are advertised on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/Renault-Mascott-Wing-Mirrors-Accessories/36682/bn_1289271 As your Knaus is LHD you’ll need to be careful, as some of the glasses being offered are convex or wide-angle and may be intended for RHD vehicles. Actually I trawled through the ebay link and came across this one. https://tinyurl.com/yxkl894r I don't need two blind spot mirrors, I just need an extra one on the nearside for when I am driving solo and reach an awkward junction with bad visibility. I might browse for other similar types when I get time to see if there is anything better (with 2 mirrors). Another alternative I have been pondering is using the spare BC20 Garmin camera I have. The main problem is sourcing a short enough lead with a Garmin connector at one end. I could utilise the spare video input on my reversing Monitor. They are handed for left and right and bolt through the top of the existing housing after drilling two holes. It might be worth seeing if they will fit the Renault mirrors. I have never trusted adhesive since a gust of wind blew my hairpiece into the River Tyne. :-| Those fresnel lenses are clever bits of kit but not the answer to my problem I'm afraid. And as promised, photos of Merc Sprinter blind spot mirrors... Another way to add a URL is as as a link, type 'square bracket url= then copy the full url including https: then close with a square bracket, type in text to display (eg LINK) then open another square bracket and add /url and finally close square bracket. As in my first post, I have LHD. I have lost my passenger side mirror and am not sure whether to buy convex or flat mirror - not had vehicle long and can't remember what was in originally. I think I should be going for convex? I think left and right mirrors are the same size, so if I buy a RHD convex mirror for passenger side, I should be ok?
